Unsworth Wants Clinical Edge As 10-Man Young Blues Triumph

David Unsworth was pleased with Everton’s 3-0 Premier League Cup victory over Doncaster Rovers – but felt his young Blues could have come away with a larger scoreline had they been more ruthless in front of goal.

The hosts had to do it the hard way in Southport after being reduced to 10 men on 40 minutes when Matthew Foulds was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Elliot Walker.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, substitute Kyle John put Everton in front before the break - and a night of dominance finally paid off with late goals from Nathan Broadhead and Nathangelo Markelo.
