Everton Under-18s collected their first league win of the season, thrashing Derby County 6-1 at Finch Farm.
The young Toffees produced a stunning second-half performance, scoring four times to comprehensively beat the Rams.
Despite a slow start, Everton took the lead after just 10 minutes. Shayne Lavery pounced on an under-hit back-pass from Michee Mbuti and coolly finished under the legs of Matt Yates in the Derby goal.
Ten minutes later and Lavery went close to get his and Everton’s second. The forward broke through the County defence and just when it looked like he was ready to pull the trigger, Derby’s Joseph Bateman got back and produced a superb tackle to deny an almost certain goal.
