Everton Under-18s extended their unbeaten run to seven games with a 0-0 away draw against in-form Blackburn Rovers.
Kevin Sheedy’s young Blues edged a highly competitive contest and looked more likely to take all three points after the hosts were reduced to 10 men just before the half-time interval.
But, despite their best efforts, the Toffees were kept at bay - and summer recruit Chris Renshaw was called into action twice late on to ensure the visitors would take a point.
Coach Sheedy said: “We’re frustrated and a bit disappointed we couldn’t take one of our chances and I felt we gave the ball away a bit too easily at times.
