Mauricio Pochettino has admitted he was pleased with how Tottenham performed in the second half of their 1-1 draw against Everton, having been disappointed with his players in the opening 45 minutes.

Ross Barkley scored early on for the hosts, before Spurs also lost goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to injury before half-time, and it wasn’t until after the break that the visitors looked like they might have taken something from the game.

Summer signing Vincent Janssen was brought on to provide a new threat in the final third, and he came close to netting a debut goal, and the equaliser finally came when Erik Lamela headed past Maarten Stekelenburg.
