Sam Allardyce has said omitting Ross Barkley from his first England squad was the toughest decision he had to make, but insists the midfielder still has a future with the Three Lions.
Allardyce left the Everton star out of his 23-man squad for this weekend's 2018 World Cup qualifier in Slovakia, despite his promising start to the season.
The 22-year-old, who recently said he was ‘devastated’ to be an unused member of England's Euro 2016 squad, has scored twice in his first four games for the Toffees.
