Sheffield United are in talks with Atletico Madrid over a deal for Croatian stopper Ivo Grbic as Chris Wilder seeks an upgrade on Wes Foderingham to boost the Blades' fading survival hopes

Sheffield United are in talks with Atletico Madrid over a deal for Croatian goalkeeper Ivo Grbic, 28, who is out of contract in the summer.

The commanding 6ft 5ins stopper has twice been capped by his national side and was a member of the squad that finished third at the 2022 World Cup.

However, his game time for his club has been restricted with Atletico's Jan Oblak continuing to excel as one of the world's best keepers.

Grbic is yet to make a first team appearance for Diego Simeone's side, who could be willing to part ways with the plater for only £2million.
