Several Weeks Out For Coleman

Ronald Koeman has confirmed Seamus Coleman will miss Everton’s Premier League opener against Tottenham Hotspur and faces “several weeks” on the sidelines.

Romelu Lukaku, who scored 25 goals in all competition last season, also misses out against Spurs after sustaining a cut and requiring three stitches to his heel during last weekend’s pre-season friendly against Espanyol.

Speaking ahead of the visit of Mauricio Pochettino’s side, Koeman said: “We’re disappointed Romelu [Lukaku] can’t start today and Seamus [Coleman] will be out for several weeks.

“It’s difficult because it means we have to change our plans, but it’s still 11 against 11.
