Sergio Ramos 'called Carlo Ancelotti for help in convincing Florentino Perez to hand him a new deal' two weeks before leaving for PSG... only for Real Madrid boss to tell him the decision was 'beyond his powers'

Real Madrid outcast Sergio Ramos asked Carlo Ancelotti to help him agree a new deal at the club on the day of the Italian's appointment, according to reports claiming the veteran was told there was no way back.

Legendary Madrid boss Ancelotti returned to the Bernabeu just two weeks before Ramos made a tearful exit when his contract expired, ending his 16-year stay at the Bernabeu.

By the time the club had sealed Ancelotti's arrival from Everton, Ramos was already destined to depart after dithering on a contract offer that he admitted he should have resolved.
