Saudi club Al-Ettifaq approach Everton over a move for Abdoulaye Doucoure... as Steven Gerrard eyes the Toffees midfielder as a replacement for Jordan Henderson

Everton are braced for a bid from Saudi Arabia’s Al Ettifaq for midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure.

The 31-year-old has been shortlisted as a potential target to replace Jordan Henderson following his move to Ajax.

Doucoure has scored key goals for Everton in their fight to stay in the Premier League and manager Sean Dyche would be loath to lose him but the club’s financial plight means they are vulnerable to offers.

Despite a bright start to the campaign, Gerrard's side have won just one of their last twelve league games.
