Roy Hodgson hopes winter break will benefit Crystal Palace after just one win in last eleven games

Crystal Palace need their upcoming winter break more than anyone after another damaging result against Everton.

Palace's 3-1 defeat at Goodison Park left them six points off the relegation zone and nobody in the division has scored fewer than their 23 in 26 matches.

'We are going to use the time allotted to us. We aren't taking the players away as a team but we are allowing them to go away individually,' said manager Roy Hodgson, whose next fixture is a six-pointer against Newcastle in a fortnight.
