Everton manager Ronald Koeman has confirmed that striker Romelu Lukaku has decided to stay at Goodison Park.
Lukaku, 23, was strongly linked with a return to his former club Chelsea over the summer but Koeman, in a column in Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, wrote that the player had told him he wanted to stay.
And speaking after his side's 2-1 win at West Bromwich Albion, in which Lukaku came on as a substitute, Koeman said the striker could now be given a new contract.
"He told me yesterday that he made the decision by himself to stay for at least one more season," he told a news conference.
