Everton Under-18s produced a stunning comeback to salvage a 4-4 draw against Sunderland at Finch Farm on Saturday afternoon.
Despite being 4-1 down midway through the second half, Kevin Sheedy’s side rallied and fought back to claim a point to help extend their unbeaten run to four games.
Given they were coming into the game on the back of convincing victories against Derby County and Liverpool respectively, it was perhaps surprising that the young started slowly and in turn found themselves behind after just 13 minutes.
A superb defence-splitting pass back by Brandon Taylor released Lee Connelly, who coolly chipped the ball over Chris Renshaw in the Everton goal.
