Ramiro Funes Mori has backed Ronald Koeman’s Blues ambition, insisting a Club like Everton “has to be going for the top”.
The Dutchman reiterated earlier this week the Toffees’ determination to compete with football’s elite, insisting he would not be manager if that was not the case.
That has been supported by Funes, who says qualification for Europe next season can help push the Club forward.
Everton goes into Saturday’s clash with Hull City seventh in the Premier League table, which is likely to be enough for Europa League football in 2017/18.
And with the Toffees on a five-match winning run at Goodison, the defender is hoping more can be achieved this season.
