Nottingham Forest fight off interest from Everton to sign Andre Ayew until the end of the season, with the Ghana forward's relationship with his former Swansea boss Steve Cooper a key factor

Andre Ayew has joined Nottingham Forest on a short-term contract to boost their attempts to stay in the Premier League.

The experienced forward, who has played in the Premier League for Swansea and West Ham, links up again with Steve Cooper after working with the Forest boss during his time with the Swans.

Sportsmail first revealed during the closing hours of the January transfer window that Ayew had become a target for Everton and Forest.

Ayew, who chose Forest after also holding talks with the Goodison Park club, is able to move outside the transfer window after reaching a settlement on his contract with Qatari club Al-Sadd.
