Aiden McGeady scored a stunning goal for Preston North End on Good Friday but it ultimately proved to be a disappointing weekend for the winger.
His shot from distance gave the Lilywhites an early lead at Huddersfield but the promotion-chasing home side fought back to earn a 3-2 stoppage-time win.
And it would be back-to-back defeats for Preston as they were then beaten 3-1 at home by Alan Irvine's Norwich City at Deepdale on Monday.
North End are now unable to reach the play-offs with three matches left to play.
