Merseyside has a ton of top-flight talent, says former Everton academy chief Ray Hall

When Aaron Cresswell returns to Merseyside on Sunday to face Everton, he will be following in a long line of West Ham Scousers that includes Alvin Martin, Ian Bishop and Kevin Nolan.

It's by no means unique; Liverpool is particularly good at producing footballers compared to other similar-sized cities even during an era where clubs can sign players from around the world.

In total, 104 players from Merseyside have appeared in the Premier League, ranging from superstars Steve Gerrard and Wayne Rooney to less celebrated figures like Leicester City's Jimmy Willis and Eddie Youds, who played for Ipswich.
