Manchester United and Arsenal 'ready to snap up 16-year-old Everton starlet Thierry Small' with left-back 'ready to reject first professional deal' at Goodison Park

Manchester United and Arsenal are ready to battle it out for Everton's teenage starlet Thierry Small with the defender reportedly prepared to reject a first professional contract at Goodison Park.

The left-back became Everton's youngest ever player when he came off the bench in his side's 3-0 FA Cup win over Sheffield Wednesday, aged just 16 years and 157 days.

But while the Toffees are prepared to offer Small a three-year professional deal, and have been for some time, the Express report the teenager is unwilling to commit his future to the club due to the lack of first-team opportunities he has been given.
