Sean Dyche has urged Everton’s squad to retain belief they can shape a positive future as he refused to waste energy thinking about the past.
The importance of Thursday's collision with Newcastle cannot be understated for an Everton team that has taken 13 points from 12 games under Dyche and only scored nine goals in that time; it will be no easy task to breach the meanest defence in the Premier League.
Everton need every attacking option he has firing on all cylinders and their lack of threat will be put into perspective by Anthony Gordon’s return – he was sold to Newcastle for more than £40million the day before Dyche was appointed in January and he will be given a fierce reception.
