Lavery Earns Senior Northern Ireland Call-Up

Everton Under-23s striker Shayne Lavery has been called up to the Northern Ireland squad for their game against South Korea on Saturday.

Lavery scored a fine goal for Northern Ireland’s Under-21s against Spain on Thursday night – blasting home midway through the second half – as Ian Baraclough’s men were beaten 5-3 in a thriller in Portadown.

His performance suitably impressed senior team manager Michael O’Neill, and Lavery could be in line to make his full international debut at Windsor Park tomorrow.

The 19-year-old has already been part of an Everton first-team squad this season – the striker was on the bench as the Blues won 3-0 at Apollon Limassol in the Europa League in December.
