MANAGER Ronald Koeman has urged his players to embrace the challenge of playing on big stages like Old Trafford and show they are ready to make ‘the next step’.
The Everton boss reiterated his pride at the way his youthful team performed in the white-hot atmosphere of a Merseyside derby at the weekend, despite defeat.
With senior internationals Seamus Coleman, Morgan Schneiderlin, Ramiro Funes Mori and James McCarthy all ruled out of the trip to Anfield through injury, Koeman turned to youth against Liverpool, with Matthew Pennington, Mason Holgate and Dominic Calvert-Lewin joining Tom Davies in the starting line-up, whilst Jonjoe Kenny and Ademola Lookman were named on the bench.
