'Klopp said playing Atletico in those conditions was criminal': Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti urges football to focus on global health amid coronavirus outbreak and warns the game will face 'downsizing with players earning less' once it finally resumes

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti revealed that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believed playing Atletico Madrid in the Champions League in front of a full stadium was 'criminal'.

The second leg of the Reds tie with Atletico was played on March 11, a time when the coronavirus pandemic was sweeping across Europe and countries were beginning to enforce lockdowns for protection.

'I heard from Klopp the other day, he told me that carrying out the game in those conditions was a criminal act, I think he was right,' Ancelotti told Corriere dello Sport.
