Kevin De Bruyne returned to action for Manchester City as Pep Guardiola named an attacking lineup featuring Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane at wing-back against Everton.
Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany were among the substitutes for the home side.
De Bruyne was expected to miss around four weeks after suffering an injury in the 3-1 victory over Swansea on Sept. 24, which saw him miss the 3-3 Champions League draw with Celtic and 2-0 league defeat to Tottenham, but he makes an early return.
Sterling, who missed the international break through injury, has also recovered and appears set to play in an unfamiliar left wing-back role, with Germany winger Sane taking his place on the right.
