Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed the club are trying to sign Everton and Stoke target Axel Witsel in January.
The midfielder's current contract with Zenit St Petersburg expires in the summer and he will not pen an extension.
That has left the Russian club with the difficult decision of deciding whether to sell Witsel this January for a transfer fee or let him go in the summer for free.
Juventus, along with Everton and Stoke are interested in the Belgian and the Premier League pair are prepared to buy him during next month's transfer window.
