Arsene Wenger has criticised Mark Clattenburg for his performance in Everton’s 2-1 victory over Arsenal on Tuesday evening, which prevented the Gunners moving first in the Premier League.
Despite Alexis Sanchez opening the scoring with a deflected free-kick, the Toffees fought back and more than deserved their equalising goal, scored by Seamus Coleman, and then the winner - which was headed home by Ashley Williams from a Ross Barkley corner.
However, replays indicated Clattenburg’s decision to award that corner was incorrect, as Dominic Calvert-Lewin had the final touch of the ball before it went out of play, rather than Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny.
