Gueye And Bolasie Victorious

Idrissa Gana Gueye featured as Senegal maintained their 100 per cent record in African Cup of Nations qualifying.

The Lions of Teranga had picked up five straight wins in a group containing Burundi, Niger and Namibia before their second game against the latter on Saturday night.

Lazio’s Keita Balde put them ahead in Dakar before Angers’ Famara Diedhiou netted a late penalty to seal win number six.

The result was of little consequence for the Senegalese, who had long qualified for the tournament, which kicks off on 14 January 2017.

It looks highly likely that Yannick Bolasie, who had a hand in Neeskens Kabano’s goal that helped DR Congo beat Central African Republic 1-0 in Group B, will join Gueye in Gabon.
