Griffiths' Unbeaten Sequence Ends

Russell Griffiths was the only Everton loanee in domestic action over the weekend because of the international break.

The goalkeeper played for Cheltenham Town in their 2-0 defeat away at Hartlepool United - a result which brought the Robins’ nine-match unbeaten run to an end.

Griffiths, 20, has been a regular for Cheltenham since moving to Whaddon Road in August. He has played 19 times and is due to stay with the League Two club until his agreement expires on January 2.

Meanwhile, Aiden McGeady, currently on loan at Preston North End, made a late cameo from the substitutes’ bench in the Republic of Ireland’s 1-0 away World Cup qualifying victory over Austria.
