Funeral for legendary former Rangers and Scotland manager Walter Smith will take place on Wednesday following his death at the age of 73 with the procession to pass by Ibrox

The funeral for former Rangers manager Walter Smith will take place on Wednesday with the cortege passing his beloved Ibrox Stadium.

The ex-Scotland and Everton boss died at the age of 73 after a period of illness.

He achieved legendary status at Ibrox, with 21 trophies in two spells making him the second most successful Rangers boss ever behind Bill Struth. He won seven titles of Rangers' nine-in-a-row run in the 1990s and returned to Ibrox in 2007.

Rangers have announced his funeral will be held this week and also said a memorial service will held at Glasgow Cathedral on November 19.
