Frank Lampard has come to the defence of Dele Alli after Glenn Hoddle ripped into the player's choice of attire for his Goodison Park welcome at the weekend.

Alli and fellow new signing Donny van de Beek were shown off to the home crowd at half-time during Everton's 4-1 fourth round FA Cup victory against Brentford on Saturday.

Tottenham legend Hoddle criticised Alli for turning up at his unveiling in front of the Everton fans looking like he had been 'dragged off the street'.
