Megan Finnigan grew up watching Jill Scott patrolling the Everton midfield as a youngster – but is now hoping to nullify the England international on Saturday.
Scott spent seven years at the Toffees before leaving for Manchester City in 2013, and will almost certainly be in the Citizens squad for their trip to the Select Security Stadium, providing she overcomes the knock that saw her withdrawn in the first half of their Champions League win over St Polten on Wednesday.
Should Scott feature, it could very well be Finnigan’s job to keep her quiet, with the 19-year-old featuring in central midfield in both of the Blue Girls’ opening WSL 1 fixtures so far.
