Everton: The International Records

First Everton Player to be Capped: Job Wilding (Wales)

Born in 1862, Wilding was among the first full-time professional footballers in England. He scored on his international debut against Northern Ireland in his hometown of Wrexham in February 1886.
Interesting fact: Wilding never played a league or cup game for Everton!

First England Players: Johnny Holt and Fred Geary
The pair made their England debuts in separate games on the same day in March 1890. On three occasions between 1890 and 1892, the FA decided to play two internationals on the same day, with all the games being awarded “full” international status.
