Leighton Baines is set to resolve the uncertainty around his future by signing a new two-year contract.
The Everton left-back had entered the final 12 months of his current deal but he has returned to form this season, having suffered with injuries last year under Roberto Martinez.
Baines, who played a significant role in Everton’s 2-1 win over Arsenal on Tuesday when providing the assist for Seamus Coleman’s equaliser, has been at Goodison Park since 2007.

His importance to the team remains crucial and the new contract will see him remain at Goodison until the summer of 2019, when he will bet 34.
