Everton 'interview former Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro for their vacant manager role' as the Toffees add to shortlist of Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard to become Rafa Benitez's replacement at Goodison Park

Everton have interviewed former Italy defender Fabio Cannavaro for their vacant manager role, according to reports.

Sportsmail revealed earlier this week that Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard are both being considered as Rafa Benitez's replacement at Goodison Park, after reports claimed that both former England internationals had also been interviewed by the club.

World Cup-winning defender Cannavaro has been a manager since 2014, with most of his experience coming in the Chinese Super League along with a short stint with Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr.
