Everton have not been put up for sale for £500million by majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri, despite reports on Tuesday claiming they have.
Moshiri sacked manager Frank Lampard on Monday with Everton languishing in 19th place in the Premier League table.
The Iranian-born businessman took over at Goodison Park in February 2016 and, despite heavy investment, has come under increasing pressure from fans in recent years.
