Everton have been awarded the LG Performance of the Week Award for their superb 4-0 victory over West Ham United at Goodison on Wednesday.
A hat-trick from Wayne Rooney – including a stunning 59-yard strike – and an Ashley Williams header, combined with Jordan Pickford’s penalty save, capped an impressive display from the Blues and had led to the team being given the award by the League Managers’ Association.
It was a fitting way for David Unsworth to sign off in his last game as caretaker manager of the first team, and the former Toffees defender will receive a celebratory bottle of Champagne, courtesy of Tanners Wines, and an LG Performance of the Week trophy in a presentation to commemorate the result.
