Everton FC transfer news: Roma warn Toffees they will have to splash out £35m to land defender Kostas Manolas

Roma have told Everton it will cost them £35m if they want to sign defender Kostas Manolas during the January transfer window.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is desperate to add a new centre-back and he has been looking at number of targets.

Southampton pair Jose Fonte and Virgil van Dijk are reportedly on his shortlist, along with Manolas.

But, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, if Everton want to bring Manolas to Goodison Park this month it will cost them £35m.

Roma have no plans to part with the Greece international and will only sell if their valuation is met in full by an interested club.
