Everton donation helps Sunderland fan reach target for cancer treatment

The mother of a five-year-old Sunderland fan suffering from cancer has said Everton's £200,000 donation has helped them reach their target for him to undergo treatment in the United States.

Bradley Lowery was Sunderland's mascot in their 3-0 defeat against the Toffees at the Stadium of Light on Monday evening.

After the match, Everton announced on their Twitter account that the club had donated £200,000, which his mother, Gemma, said felt like winning the lottery.

Gemma Lowery told the BBC: "It's amazing, not in a million years did we think that would happen.
