Everton defender Mason Holgate is heading to Southampton for a medical ahead of signing on loan.
The 26-year old has had a difficult time at Everton over the past two seasons and is ready for a fresh start.
Southampton have been pursuing Holgate all summer and want him alongside Nathan Wood, their other centre back target, from Swansea City.
Holgate was bought by Everton from Barnsley in 2015 and there were high hopes he would follow in the footsteps of John Stones as a centre back with good technical ability.
