Everton are continuing discussions with Sporting Lisbon over an £18m deal for Brazilian midfielder Matheus Nunes, 22.
A deal is edging closer to completion, with the Toffees having reportedly already agreed terms with Matheus on a contract which will see his salary skyrocket from £170,000 a year to £1m according to A Bola.
Matheus enjoyed a strong breakthrough season at Sporting Lisbon last term, making 39 appearances in all competitions and adding two goals from his role playing just in front of the defence.
