Ross Barkley scored a superb free-kick on his first start as Everton captain to help guide the Toffees to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Yeovil Town in the EFL Cup.
The 22-year-old home-grown talent fired in a long-range effort to send Ronald Koeman's side through to the third round, after Aaron Lennon had opened the scoring with a close-range finish midway through the first-half.
Yeovil, currently 16th in the League Two table, kept their Premier League opponents at bay for large spells of the match but rarely threatened to cause an upset, and were punished when Arouna Kone added two more late goals.
