Seamus Coleman captained the Republic of Ireland to what could be a priceless victory in Austria.

The Boys In Green triumphed 1-0 away from home thanks to James McClean's strike and promptly rose to the top of their World Cup qualifying group.

Coleman played the full 90 minutes as his unbeaten run as captain of the national side was extended to four games. Aiden McGeady, currently on loan at Preston North End, made a late cameo.

Elsewhere, Ashley Williams also wore the armband but Wales were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Serbia.
