Mo Besic came out on the losing side of a seven-goal thriller as Bosnia-Herzegovina's World Cup qualifying hopes were hit by a 4-3 home defeat to Belgium.
The Blues midfielder played for more than an hour in Sarajevo against the Red Devils, who have already booked their place for Russia after topping group H.
Bosnia went into the clash in second place and looking for a play-off spot but fell behind to Thomas Meunier's fourth-minute goal, only for Haris Medunjanin to grab a quick leveller for the hosts.
Edin Visca put Bosnia ahead before the break, before Michy Batshuayi levelled for Belgium, who had Everton forward Kevin Mirallas as an unused substitute.
