Gareth Barry has set his sights on usurping Ryan Giggs’ Premier League appearance record - and maybe even before the end of the season.
Barry walked out for his 600th top-flight game on Saturday afternoon and helped Everton beat Middlesbrough 3-1 to go back to second in the Premier League table.
The 35-year-old is now only 32 matches behind the total set by Manchester United legend Giggs, with 33 league fixtures remaining in the 2016/17 campaign.
Asked if he could overtake the Welshman come May, Barry said: “That will be some going to play every game this season.
