Ashley Williams’ previous experiences in the South Wales derby have helped him with preparations for tonight’s meeting with Liverpool at Goodison Park.
The central defender, the match-winning hero in last week’s 2-1 victory against Arsenal, is set to feature in his first Merseyside derby since making the summer switch from Swansea City.
With the Swans, Williams played against their rivals Cardiff City on nine occasions, including two meetings against their local rivals in the Premier League during the 2013/14 season.
Monday’s match also takes extra significance on a personal level for the Welshman who wil be playing in his 500th career league fixture.
