Alexi Lalas says Jesse Marsch's Leeds departure will dent the reputation of American soccer after the coach was fired on Monday with less than a year in the job.

Marsch was dismissed a day after Leeds lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest to leave the team above the relegation zone on goal difference, level on points with 18th place Everton. Leeds often played well under Marsch but failed to convert positive displays into points on the board and now faces a fight to retain its Premier League status.
