AC Milan turn down £35m Chelsea bid for Alessio Romagnoli

AC Milan have rejected Chelsea's £35million offer for Alessio Romagnoli.

The Stamford Bridge club sent their bid on Wednesday for the 21-year-old centre-back but after a quick consultation with the prospective Chinese owners, Milan have turned down the bid.

Chelsea will now take stock of whether to improve their offer or to switch to Torino's Nikola Maksimovic.

Napoli made an improved offer for the 24-year-old Serbia defender on Wednesday with Torino holding out for £25m.
