Abdoulaye Doucoure facing 'lengthy spell on the sidelines' with broken foot as Everton consider surgery for star midfielder in latest blow to Rafa Benitez

Everton are concerned that midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure could face a considerable period on the sidelines with a broken foot, according to reports.

The 28-year-old played for 90 minutes in Everton's 1-0 home loss to West Ham on Sunday but is rumoured to have damaged his metatarsal and an operation to fix the issue has been considered.

Doucoure been a key figure in Rafa Benitez's Toffees side and has played in every single minute of Everton's Premier League campaign so far.

But according to The Times, Everton believe the French midfielder is set to spend a long period of time on the injury table which would be a blow to Benitez's plans this season.
