EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Evansville freshman swimmer Daniel Santos Lopez (Madrid, Spain) has been named the Mid-American Conference male swimmer of the week after an impressive showing over the weekend in UE's dual meet against Saint Louis University.
Santos Lopez won two individual events and led off two winning relay teams in UE's 154-135 victory over the Billikens. Santos Lopez won the 100-yard backstroke by nearly three seconds, as he clocked in with a time of 51.45. He also took first in the 100-yard freestyle by two seconds, with a time of 46.74.
Santos Lopez led off UE's winning 200 Medley Relay team which posted the Purple Aces' first-ever event victory at the new Deaconess Aquatic Center.
