Lukas selected by Royals in MLB Draft

SECAUCUS, N.Y. - After a stellar junior season, University of Evansville right-handed pitcher Adam Lukas was selected in the 12th round of the Major League Baseball Draft by the Kansas City Royals.

Lukas is the 27th Evansville student-athlete to be drafted in the MLB Draft and first since Conor Strain and Trey Hair were both selected in the 2017 MLB Draft. The Kansas City Royals have shown a penchant for drafting Aces as Lukas is the fourth Ace to be drafted by the Royals with previous Kansas City draft picks including Sal Fasano, Ben Norton, and, most recently, Kyle Pollock in 2014.
