Chiefs, DT Chris Jones agree to new 1-year contract

The Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to a new one-year contract with defensive tackle Chris Jones, the team announced Monday. Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.

Jones still has one year left on his deal with the Chiefs as no new years were added to his contract, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter, but Jones received multiple incentives to earn considerably more money this season.

He was to be paid $80 million over the four years of a deal he signed in 2020, and the $20 million average would've made him the ninth-highest-paid defensive tackle this season.
