In what is becoming one of the biggest days in recent franchise history, the Edmonton Oilers lock up another big piece of their future core. The club signed 2025 Trade Deadline acquisition, left-handed defenceman Jake Walman to a new contract.
Like McDavid, he has been eligible to sign a new deal since July 1st and it has been heavily rumoured and reported on. In September, multiple insiders reported that the Walman extension was going to come in on a long term contract, with the speculation being a roughly six-year deal, carrying a $6 million annual average value (AAV).
